Treaty of Cateau-Cambrésis
The Treaty of Cateau-Cambrésis was a series of agreements that ended the Italian Wars, a series of conflicts primarily involving France, Spain, the Holy Roman Empire, and various Italian states from 1494 to 1559. The treaty was signed in two parts:
- April 3, 1559: A peace agreement between France and England was signed, which ended the conflict between these two nations. This treaty is sometimes referred to as the Peace of Cateau-Cambrésis.
- April 12, 1559: The second part involved France, Spain, and the Holy Roman Empire, effectively concluding the hostilities between these powers.
