The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) is a Dubai government organization responsible for space exploration, satellite development, and research in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Established to foster the development of the space industry in the region, MBRSC plays a pivotal role in the UAE's ambition to become a key player in global space exploration and technology.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre was established in 2006 under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. Its inception was part of a broader initiative to diversify the economy of Dubai and promote scientific research and technological innovation in space sciences. Initially named the Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology (EIAST), it was later renamed to honor Sheikh Mohammed's vision for space exploration.
The Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for satellite assembly, integration, and testing (AIT). These include clean rooms, thermal vacuum chambers, and vibration test facilities, all necessary for the development and testing of space hardware.
